FAQ

What time will we arrive back to the city?
The ferry will dock at Circular Quay ( the wharf near the Opera House/ Harbour Bridge ) at 5.30pm - 6.00pm. From Circular Quay you can catch a train, bus, cab or walk back to your accommodation. Circular Quay is the best place in Sydney to finish your Blue Mountains trip. Many people go for a drink, get something to eat, go for a walk around the historic Rocks area or the Opera House at the end of their tour.

How do you manage to fit so much into one day.
We leave the city 30 minutes to 45 minutes earlier than a lot of other tour companies because we streamline our pick ups and start our pick ups earlier, this automatically puts us ahead of time. We don't stop for 30 minutes for a morning tea stop, instead we have an earlier lunch time ( around 11.30am- 12.00pm ). Some guests skip breakfast and we've found that all guests are ready for lunch at this time. We don't have afternoon tea for a further 30 minutes in an uninspiring spot.

What type of buses do we travel in?
You will travel in either a 21 seater Toyota Coaster or a 24 seater brand new Mitsubishi Rosa. All buses are comfortable, fully air conditioned and modern. We prefer mini coaches to keep group sizes to a minimum. Our smaller buses can go into areas that the big coaches can't, plus you won't spend up to an hour of your day out getting in and out of the bus.You will see more and spend more time out of the bus. No one has ever complained about the comfort of our buses.

Is the bush walk into the canyon paved?
No, because we couldn't effectively call it a bush walk if we took out guests on a concrete pathway by the road. Our bush walk does not include concrete pathways, we leave the crowded concrete look out points behind and walk deep into the rainforest, with nothing but the rainforest floor under our feet.

Are you Insured?
Yes, we are 100% fully insured for your total safety. We are 100% accredited to operate a long distance and tourist service. Very strict guidelines must be adhered to. The guidelines are set by the Ministry of Transport. We are also licensed and insured to go into all the national parks in the Blue Mountains. We do not cut corners when it comes to your safety.

Do your tour guides also drive the bus?
Yes, our guides also drive the bus, so effectively they are your Driver/Guide for the day. We place extreme importance in your safety; once again, our Driver/Guides must adhere to very strict rules set by the Ministry of Transport. Our buses are equipped with tachometers which measure speed, resting period and how long a driver has been driving. This information is recorded and signed off every day. Our drivers are fully accredited and must periodically undertake a medical to fulfil the requirements set out by the M.O.T. For a copy of the driver obligations, please contact us.

Are the rides included in the ticket price?
All the rides are optional extra because because quite often not everyone in the groups chooses to take the rides. Including the rides into the ticket prices will unnecessarily bump up the overall ticket price for the guests that don't wish to take the rides or who are on a budget.

Does the group have to be forced together all day?
No. We've set our day tour up so you can break away from the group at every part of our itinerary if you'd prefer. We DO NOT herd the group around or force anyone into any embarrassing situations. We don't pass the Guide's microphone around the bus and make everyone tell their life story. There are day tours like this, but that's not our thing.

Are your guides knowledgeable?
Our guides are very knowledgeable. In our interviewing process, we screen our guides based on their knowledge, professionalism and dedication. Our guides actually guide you, they don't sit in the bus and point you in the direction you need to go. This ensures your safety and value for money. We place extreme importance on our Tour Guides because they are our business. A fantastic guide makes for a fantastic day. It all comes down to your Tour Guide.

Our guides stay refreshed by taking regular breaks, pursuing other passions such as, music, acting, film making and traveling. They are very very passionate about what they do and very proud of the fact that they are Guides for Wonderbus. Our guides aren't burnt out and bored, they love what they do. They don't talk too much or too little, they've found a great balance of information to share with you throughout the day. Plus our Guides won't patronise you or be condescending and you'll be happy to know they won't try and make you laugh with lame jokes: E.G ' Hands up if you're not on the bus,' that's just ain't funny :-)
